Terms and Conditions

These terms cover the use of this website and the basis on which we take instructions. Where we are engaged on a specific matter, a separate engagement letter sets out the scope and fee, and takes precedence over anything here.

About us

This website is operated by Shams Britvisa Lawyers Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 14182242, registered office Shams Britvisa Lawyers Ltd, 291 Slade Lane, Manchester, M19 2HR, United Kingdom.

Immigration advice and services are provided by IAA-regulated immigration advisers. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Home Office or UK Visas and Immigration.

This website is information, not advice

Everything on this site is general information about the UK sponsor licence regime. It is not legal or immigration advice, and it does not take account of your organisation's circumstances. Reading it does not create a client relationship between us.

Immigration rules, fees and published guidance change, sometimes at short notice. We update this site periodically, but you should confirm anything that matters on GOV.UK or ask us directly before acting on it.

No payments are taken through this website

There is no checkout on this site and no facility to pay us here. Prices are published so you can budget without having to ask for them. Any engagement is agreed in writing first, and invoiced separately.

Enquiries

Submitting the eligibility check form does not create a client relationship or oblige either of us to proceed. We may decline to act, including where we consider an application has no realistic prospect, where there is a conflict, or where we cannot complete our client due diligence.

Please give accurate information. An eligibility answer based on an incomplete picture of your organisation is not worth having.

Engagement and fees

Where you instruct us, we will send an engagement letter setting out the scope, the fee, what is excluded, and what we need from you. Fees quoted on this site are professional fees only and exclude VAT and all Home Office charges.

We cannot guarantee any outcome. Whether a licence is granted is a decision for the Home Office, and it is not one we control.

Your responsibilities as a client

Give us complete and accurate information about the organisation, the roles and the individuals involved.

Tell us promptly if anything changes, particularly anything reportable under your sponsor duties.

Meet the deadlines we give you. Several of them are statutory and cannot be extended.

Understand that your sponsor duties remain yours. We can carry out tasks on your behalf, but the licence and its obligations sit with you.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that, and because our clients are businesses rather than consumers, our liability arising out of any engagement is limited to the amount stated in the relevant engagement letter, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or indirect or consequential loss.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
